A system of Abel type integral equations

Coupled nonlinear Abel type integral equations related to combustion problems are considered. The main results provide criteria for the existence of positive solutions. The criteria are expressed in terms of the generalized Osgood condition. The global behaviour of the solutions is also discussed, especially the conditions under which the solutions experience blow up.
