Generalized mean value property in the limit for eigenfunctions of the Laplacian on $\mathbb{R}^n$

We characterize all eigenfunctions of the Laplacian on $\mathbb R^n$ through a generalized spherical mean value property as the radius of the sphere goes to infinity.
